PROTECTING LARGE BREEDS FROM ‘BLOAT’

For Great Danes, Shepherds, and other large breeds, Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus (GDV)—or "Bloat"—is a deadly nightmare. The stomach twists, cutting off blood supply.

We perform a Laparoscopic Gastropexy (Stomach Tack). We permanently attach the stomach to the abdominal wall so it cannot twist. We can do this at the same time as the spay, through the same tiny ports.

    Most general practices do not have this specialized tower. That is why Dr. Hodges brings the equipment to them.

    We can perform this on dogs from 5kg to 80kg+.
